About Us
We've Been Where You Are
Most people find Soothe Wellness after years of searching.
They’ve seen the specialists. Done the therapy. Followed the protocols. And still, something remains stuck. The body won’t calm down. The symptoms won’t resolve. The answers haven’t come.
Jen and Mike know that experience personally. It’s why they built this practice.
Jen Donovan, MS, NTP, CGP, TRE
Jen didn’t come to this work through a textbook.
She came through her own body, through years of navigating a severe immune and nervous system disorder that conventional medicine couldn’t fully explain or resolve. As a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma, she had the clinical training. She understood the theory. But when her own health collapsed, she discovered something her education hadn’t fully prepared her for: talk therapy alone couldn’t reach what was stored in the body.
That realization changed everything.
Jen began exploring what happened when you stopped chasing symptoms and started listening to what the nervous system was actually trying to communicate. She trained in Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), became a certified Block Therapy instructor, and pursued advanced study in nutritional therapy and gut health, recognizing that the brain cannot heal in a body that is inflamed, depleted, or running on empty.
What she discovered through her own recovery became the foundation of her clinical approach: symptoms aren’t failures. They’re intelligent survival responses. And they can change.
Today, Jen specializes in complex chronic illness and works with clients who have often been told their symptoms are untreatable. She brings a rare combination of clinical rigor and deep personal understanding to every session, and has been invited to share her work as a guest lecturer at Penn Medicine.
Her clients don’t just get better. They finally understand why they weren’t getting better before and that changes everything.
Mike Welch, AAS, NMI-Level 3
Mike’s turning point came without warning.
A layoff from a high-stress career in tech left him face to face with mental health challenges he’d been outrunning for years: PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety. He turned to fitness and exercise science, and found real relief. But the more he worked with clients carrying chronic stress, the more he noticed the same ceiling: conventional fitness and generic meditation could only take people so far.
Something was missing.
That missing piece turned out to be the brain itself.
Mike discovered Neuromeditation, a clinical approach that uses real-time brainwave data to identify each person’s unique stress patterns and guide them into states their nervous system had forgotten were possible. For the first time, he wasn’t guessing. He could see exactly what was happening in the brain, and precisely how to shift it. The results with his clients were unlike anything he’d seen before.
He went on to complete the highest level of certification available through the Neuro Meditation Institute, becoming an NMI-Level 3 certified instructor, one of a small number of practitioners trained at this level in the country. His work bridges exercise science, neuroscience, meditation, and somatic practice into something genuinely new.
Why We Built Soothe Together
There is a gap in the current healthcare system, a space where traditional talk therapy, functional nutrition, and neuroscience rarely intersect. Most people fall into that gap and stay there, cycling through practitioners who treat the symptom in front of them without ever addressing the system underneath.
Soothe Wellness was built to fill that gap.
Together, Jen and Mike have developed protocols that address the nervous system from every angle: the fascia and body, the brain and its wave patterns, the gut and its metabolic signals, the trauma held in tissue. The result is a level of care that is both deeply scientific and deeply human.
Their work has been recognized beyond their practice walls, with guest lectures at Penn Medicine and growing partnerships with wellness communities across Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
But what matters most to them is simpler than any credential or platform:
That you leave understanding your body better than when you arrived. And that healing finally feels possible.
